deep in the heart of texas

After my two week stay in Orlando, I was back aboard the Greyhound and off to Houston, Texas.
the worlds coolest gas station

In Houston a  former work mate of my dads;  Don and his wife Marianne, were awesome enough to accommodate me for a few nights and show me the sights, movie theaters, the local wildlife and Texas from the air. I am very grateful!  Texas is an amazing place, nothing like the lazy stereotypes of it suggest.  It is also home to some of the best food on earth.

ready for take off...

From Houston I took the Greyhound to San Antonio, home of the Alamo and a very nice river walk.

This sign refers to "the" Phil Collins.  Unsatisfied by the actual Alamo Museum, he purchased a diorama (model) of it on ebay, recorded a narration and donated it to a book store next door.  Unfortunately you can't take pictures of it.

part of the actual Alamo.
